Atlantic Grocery Distributors (AGD) is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Retail Buyer to join our Procurement Team. In this role, you will collaborate with fellow team members to manage supplier relationships, optimize product selection, and support revenue growth and profitability. The ideal candidate is proactive, adaptable, and eager to contribute in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
Role Overview:
Build and maintain strong supplier relationships through regular communication and meetings to ensure reliability and high service levels.
Negotiate pricing, terms, discounts, rebates, and co-op programs to achieve the best value.
Collaborate with suppliers to develop programs that enhance our competitiveness in the market.
Place and manage supplier orders to maintain optimal inventory levels.
Keep supplier and product data accurate and up to date.
Maintain current pricing and promotional information.
Partner with internal teams to support company sales and growth objectives.
Analyze historical data to evaluate past initiatives and identify opportunities to improve sales and inventory performance.
Participate in researching, evaluating, and selecting new suppliers as required.
What You Bring:
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
Experience in purchasing or procurement, particularly within the retail sector
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Quick learner with the ability to adapt to new systems and tools
Working knowledge of Retalix is a strong asset
Proven ability to collaborate effectively within a team while meeting individual performance goals
Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines
