The role: Retail Business Specialist
Location: Toronto

Our client is an industry leading Canadian company that manufactures, distributes and markets category-leading products for the automotive, commercial heavy-duty, and industrial markets.

The Retail Business Specialist plays a pivotal role by supporting the growth of our key Retail customers for the Company. Working closely with National Account Managers and our customers, you will ensure that Wakefield\xe2\x80\x99s product assortment performance is optimized and help grow Wakefield\xe2\x80\x99s preferred vendor status with the Retailer.

About the role:
  • Plan and coordinate new product launch plans to ensure targeted dates are met and ensure product and display requirements are provided.
  • Perform analysis based on defined lifecycle management processes and formulate recommendations and implement with cross-functional teams to manage the flow of inventory.
  • Drive ongoing assortment planning and lifecycle management process improvements from both a tactical and a strategic perspective.
  • Forecast any future needs for promotions or sales and develop and recommend exit strategies for surplus and obsolete products.
  • Coordinate and communicate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that assortment recommendations are understood and effectively executed.
  • Responsible for line reviews, assortment updates and retail programs
  • Become the resident expert on the retailer\xe2\x80\x99s replenishment systems and how they interact with internal systems to better service the client.
  • Assume project management role in cross-functional projects with customers.
About you:
\xe2\x96\xaa Previous relevant experience required including experience with large retailers,
specifically, Walmart, and Costco
\xe2\x96\xaa Minimum of 2 years of experience with retailer systems (Retail Link, Vendor
Gateway, Infoshare, CRX).
\xe2\x96\xaa Logistics or manufacturing experience, including knowledge of supply chain
processes would be an asset.
\xe2\x96\xaa Proven understanding of forecasting systems and processes.
\xe2\x96\xaa Must possess strong Microsoft Suite experience and advanced Excel.
\xe2\x96\xaa College or university degree in Business Administration or related field.
