Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Retail Allocator to support the strategic distribution of our carryover product assortment across our retail network. This position plays a key role in maximizing sales opportunities and managing inventory by ensuring the right product reaches the right store at the right time. The ideal candidate has a strong analytical mindset, understands retail operations, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
1) Pre-Season Allocation of Carryover Stock:
a) Review and analyze pre-packaged carryover assortments created by designated carryover stores.
b) Determine optimal store-level allocations based on sales history, store capacity, regional climate, and product performance.
c) Collaborate with planning and merchandising teams to align allocations with sales forecasts and assortment strategies.
2) Inter-Store Transfers (ISTs):
a) Identify and initiate ISTs to support in-season demand and sell-through.
b) Proactively execute ISTs to relocate off-season or slow-selling goods and free up space for new product arrivals.
c) Monitor inventory levels, sales trends, and store needs to optimize product placement across the chain.
3) Reporting & Analysis:
a) Run weekly reports on product performance and inventory by location.
b) Provide allocation recommendations based on sell-through data and store feedback.
c) Track effectiveness of allocations and transfers to drive future improvements.
4) Collaboration & Communication:
a) Work closely with store operations, visual, and merchandising teams to ensure allocations align with store layouts and seasonal displays.
b) Maintain open lines of communication with carryover stores to ensure accuracy and timing of shipments.
c) Assist in seasonal planning and recap meetings as needed.
Qualifications
2+ years of experience in retail allocation, planning, or inventory management (fashion/apparel industry preferred).
Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel and inventory management systems.
Exceptional organizational and time management abilities.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
