Position Overview
The ReStore Floor Associate is an integral part of the Habitat for Humanity Saskatchewan ReStore team, providing excellent customer service, supporting inventory and merchandising efforts, and contributing to a positive and efficient work environment. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals passionate about community engagement, retail operations, and Habitats mission to build affordable homes for families in need.

Key Responsibilities
Customer Service Excellence
  • Engagement: Greet and assist customers in a friendly, professional manner, addressing inquiries and concerns to ensure a positive shopping experience.
  • Environment: Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming store atmosphere, ensuring customer safety and satisfaction.
Inventory Management & Merchandising
  • Stock Handling: Assist with receiving, sorting, and stocking donations, ensuring items are priced and displayed appropriately.
  • Visual Merchandising: Support the organization and presentation of merchandise to create appealing and accessible displays for customers.
Operational Support
  • Daily Tasks: Operate the cash register, handle transactions, and assist with opening and closing procedures as needed.
  • Safety Compliance: Follow safety guidelines and assist in maintaining a secure environment for staff, volunteers, and customers.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the ReStore Team Lead to support store operations and resolve issues as they arise.
Volunteer & Team Engagement
  • Volunteer Support: Assist in directing volunteers during shifts, ensuring they understand tasks and adhere to ReStore policies.
  • Teamwork: Contribute to a collaborative and supportive work environment, fostering positive relationships with staff and volunteers.
Skills
  • Customer Service: Strong interpersonal skills to provide excellent service and resolve customer concerns effectively.
  • Merchandising: Ability to organize and present merchandise in a visually appealing and accessible manner.
  • Inventory Management: Basic skills in sorting, tracking, and categorizing inventory for efficient store operations.

Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent desired.
  • Previous experience in retail, customer service, or volunteer roles preferred but not required.
  • Experience in operating cash registers and retail transaction platforms.
  • Familiarity with inventory tracking and categorization systems.
  • Knowledge of safety tools and procedures, including lifting equipment and compliance signage.
  • Use of email and basic reporting software for operational coordination.

  • Full-time or part-time position with regular shifts, including weekends and some evenings.
  • Physical demands include standing for extended periods, lifting and carrying donations, and moving merchandise.
