The
Restorative Care Aide
reports to the Clinical Informatics Manager and is responsible for providing therapy services to residents under the direction of the Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist and the supervision of the designated lead and if applicable provides Nursing Restorative Services under the directions of the Unit Supervisor and the supervision of the designated lead.
Responsibilities:
Plan, implement and evaluate both individual and group restorative programs based on assessed needs and as assigned by the Supervisor - including personal hygiene, AROM, restorative eating, restorative walking, restorative transfers, bed mobility, toileting, dressing and grooming.
Assess and implement group exercise class in long term care.
Complete documentation in Activity Pro and Point Click Care ( RAI/MDS , care plans, progress notes, and initial assessments)
Set up and clean activity area as necessary and transport residents to and from programs. Monitor the behaviour and condition of residents during programs, and report any significant changes to the Supervisor and nursing staff as appropriate.
Maintain program and resident records according to department policy. Communicate participation by residents to registered staff.
Work cooperatively with other departments to meet resident needs.

Qualifications:
The qualifications needed to join our family are as follows:
An asset to have successfully completed a training program in restorative care or is enrolled in such a program, or has successfully completed relevant training course provided at the Home by a qualified Therapist (Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist)
CPR and First Aid qualifications an asset
Computer literate
Demonstrated leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
Experience working in a long term care setting
Committed to promoting residents' well being
Inspire others to be motivated and work with a passion, and empower team members
Must have a clear vulnerable sector screen, no older than 6 months, TB test results less than 6 months old, must be able to provide three supervisory reference
