We are pleased to announce that we are expanding our long term care options in the Moncton region with the opening of Ocean Hall, a 60-bed licenced nursing home that will be located near Wheeler Boulevard. Ocean refers to the passenger train operated by Via Rail in Canada between Montreal, Quebec, and Halifax, Nova Scotia. It is the oldest continuously operated named passenger train in North America. Ocean Hall will open this fall.

We are searching for a Full-Time Restorative Assistant to join our Gordon Hall team based in Moncton, New Brunswick.

About the Opportunity
  • Contribute to the assessment of residents and the development of treatment programs by the rehabilitation professional by providing information and observations as well as being present at the time of assessment;
  • Assist in the organization and carrying out of rehabilitation programs for nursing home residents;
  • Carry out exercise and/or treatment programs prepared for the resident by rehabilitation professionals;
  • Work closely with vendors and suppliers to maintain adequate inventory of all equipment in stock and resident equipment, noting make, model, and ownership of all items;
  • Work in collaboration with the maintenance department and equipment providers/manufacturers to ensure all equipment used for treatments or programs is operational and regularly maintained to safety standards;
  • Inform extra-mural professionals of new consultation requests made by physician and/or Registered Nurse;
About You

In addition to placing high value on continuous improvement, collaboration and accountability, you bring:
  • Diploma: Occupational Therapy Assistant/Physiotherapy Assistant/Licensed Practical Nurse or you have a Bachelor\'s Degree in Kinesiology;
  • First Aid & CPR or BLS Certification is required;
  • English language proficiency is required, French considered a strong asset;
  • U-first training or a Dementia Care Course would be considered an asset;
  • Previous experience working in a long term care environment would also be considered an asset;
  • You have knowledge of basic resident care practices and principles;
  • A passion for the healthcare sector and/or ensuring seniors have access to quality accommodations, services and care.
