We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Restaurant Manager to lead our team and ensure the smooth operation of our new restaurant in downtwon Victoria. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the food industry, exceptional leadership skills, and a passion for providing outstanding customer service. This role requires a hands-on approach to managing daily operations, fostering a positive work environment, and ensuring compliance with food safety standards.
Duties
Oversee daily restaurant operations, ensuring high standards of food quality and service
Manage staff, including hiring, training, supervising, and scheduling team members
Maintain inventory levels and manage food preparation processes to ensure freshness and quality
Utilize POS systems (such as Micros POS) for efficient order processing and cash handling
Implement and uphold food safety regulations and health standards
Foster a positive dining experience by addressing customer inquiries and resolving complaints promptly
Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and presentation
Conduct regular staff meetings to communicate goals, expectations, and performance feedback
Monitor financial performance, including budgeting and cost control measures
Qualifications
Proven experience in restaurant management or a similar role within the food service industry
Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen operations
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to create a welcoming atmosphere for guests
Demonstrated leadership capabilities with experience in team management and development
Familiarity with cash handling procedures and financial reporting
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling
Previous experience with POS systems is preferred; familiarity with Micros POS is a plus
Background in hospitality or hotel management is advantageous
Barista experience is considered an asset
