We're looking for a dependable, customer-focused Assistant Manager to join our Tim Hortons team. You'll help run daily operations, lead and coach a small team, safeguard food quality and safety, and deliver the fast, friendly service our guests expect. This is a hands-on leadership role -- you'll work alongside crew members during rushes, support the manager in all areas of store performance, and step in as acting manager as required.
Key responsibilities
Lead, train and motivate crew to deliver Tim Hortons' standards of service, product quality and cleanliness.
Supervise shifts: open/close procedures, cash handling, POS reconciliation and store security.
Manage staffing: create schedules, assist with hiring, conduct performance feedback and help resolve crew issues.
Maintain excellent customer service and handle guest concerns professionally and promptly.
Ensure food safety, health and safety, and sanitation standards are met (daily walkthroughs, checklists).
Monitor inventory levels and place supply orders; manage waste and control food/labor costs.
Drive operational excellence and meet store KPIs (sales targets, speed of service, customer satisfaction).
Support marketing and local promotions; ensure merchandising and product displays meet brand standards.
Assist with administrative duties: payroll support, incident logs, completion of required reports.
Act as on-site manager when General Manager is absent.
Qualifications & skills
Required
1-2 years of supervisory experience in quick-service restaurants, coffee shops, or retail preferred.
Strong customer service skills and a positive, professional attitude.
Reliable, punctual, and able to work varied shifts including early mornings, evenings, weekends.
Basic math skills and cash handling experience.
Ability to supervise, train, and develop a team.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Food Handler's certificate or willingness to obtain (as required by local regulations).
Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks (lifting, bending) typical of restaurant work.
Preferred
Experience specifically with Tim Hortons or similar franchise systems.
Experience with scheduling, inventory systems and basic labor cost controls.
