Requirements:
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Reliable vehicle and valid liability insurance
Ability to safely transport children to and from activities and school
Current First Aid certification
Police Vulnerable Sector Check
Child and Family Services (CFS) Intervention Check
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver respite care for children aged 2-17 years
Assist with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
Administer medications as prescribed by healthcare professionals
Prepare and serve meals in accordance with dietary needs and preferences
Perform light housekeeping to ensure a clean and safe environment
Support mobility and transfers, including heavy lifting when necessary
Provide companionship and emotional support
Plan and facilitate engaging activities tailored to each child's interests and abilities
Skills & Qualities:
Previous experience in caregiving or related fields preferred
Knowledge of medication administration procedures
Ability to perform physical tasks, including heavy lifting
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in following instructions
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Compassionate, empathetic, and respectful approach to care
Ability to maintain confidentiality and respect client privacy
