About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Manager, and under the direction of the Provincial Program Coordinator and Medical Director of the INSPIRED COPD Outreach Program, the Respiratory Therapist provides respiratory (primarily COPD) education to patients, families, caregivers and other health care professionals. The Respiratory Therapist applies their knowledge, skills and judgment in the provision of diagnostic, assessment and therapeutic modalities to assist in the management of respiratory disorders in collaboration with health care professionals and community providers.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

• Successful completion of a Respiratory Therapy program from an accredited institution required
• Successful completion of the Canadian Board of Respiratory Care Exams required
• Current registration with the Nova Scotia College of Respiratory Therapists required
• Current certification in BCLS
• Proof of completion of an approved COPD Educators program (CRE) or equivalent preferred; if not completed, after hiring, completion is required as soon as feasible (funding available)
• A minimum of two years\' experience in Respiratory Therapy is required (experience in a case management or care coordinator role would be preferred)
• Clinical experience in the relevant practice area preferred (ie. community-based care, palliative care, chronic disease management, patient educator)
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong computer skills with proficiency in MS Office programs, and excel Microsoft databases
• Experience with virtual care an asset; must be willing to integrate virtual care into practice
• Able to work flexibly from an office, home or community setting to provide both in-person and virtual care
• Access to a reliable vehicle and valid Nova Scotia Driver\'s license, as regular travel is required for clinical visits
• Willing to travel within program catchment area with occasional travel beyond catchment, for training or meeting purposes
• Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

$29.08 - $39.87 Hourly
