Job Description

The CANDORA Society of Edmonton is currently seeking a motivated, collaborative person for a full-time Resource Worker position. The RW provides support to participants facing barriers to employment, such as housing instability, mental health challenges, financial insecurity, childcare needs, transportation issues, and criminal records. Reporting to the Employment Program Manager, the RW will work closely with the Career Counsellors as well as Family and Community Resource team to enhance our wrap-around service delivery for community members.

Key Responsibilities



Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify individual and family strengths, needs, and barriers, and determine appropriate support or interventions. Ensure a trauma-informed, strengths-based, and culturally responsive approach in all client interactions. Develop individualized support plans in collaboration with participants, outlining clear steps to address identified barriers and connect them with relevant community resources. Regularly update and revise Action Plans, maintain accurate and up-to-date records of participant interactions, referrals, and progress in program databases. Ensure thorough and timely case notes are recorded in accordance with agency protocols, including obtaining informed consent and adhering to strict confidentiality and privacy standards. Advocate, provide guidance and support to participants navigating complex systems. Facilitate supported referrals for community members to internal and external individual/family supports and programming. Work collaboratively with the Employment Program team as well as Family and Community Resource Team. Stay informed about local community resources, programs, and services to ensure participants receive up-to-date and accurate information. Build and maintain strong relationships with community organizations, service providers, and agencies to ensure participants have access to necessary resources. Prepare reports on participant outcomes, resource utilization, and program impact for internal evaluation and funder reporting. Represent CANDORA at community events, networking opportunities, and partnership meetings to promote the program and build relationships with service providers. Participate in relevant training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in case management and community resources. Support CANDORA-wide initiatives and program-related events as required. Other duties as required.

Qualifications, Skills & Competencies



Post-secondary education in related fields such as Social Work, Community Development, Psychology, or Human Services. Equivalent experience may be considered. Proven experience in case management, community resource coordination, or a related field, particularly with individuals facing multiple barriers to employment. Ability to maintain accurate records and manage participant files in compliance with program requirements. Strong knowledge of local community resources, including housing, mental health, financial assistance, childcare, transportation, and legal supports. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with diverse populations. Strong advocacy skills and the ability to navigate complex systems on behalf of participants. Proven ability to multi-task, remain calm in high-pressure situations, and manage competing priorities effectively. Crisis intervention and/or de-escalation training is an asset. Strong organizational and time management skills. Clear understanding of professional boundaries and ethics. Commitment to the vision, mission, values, and beliefs of the Candora Society. Clear Child Intervention Record Check and Police Information Check are mandatory.

Working Conditions



The FCRW is a full-time position (35 hours week). Days and hours of work may be flexible dependent on the ongoing needs of the role. The FCRW will work both in an office setting and in community settings and non-standard workplaces.
