Position Overview:
The Resource Coordinator plays a leadership role within our Independent Living support team, overseeing the coordination of services and care for individuals supported. This includes managing staffing needs, recruiting and hiring Outreach Support Mentors, and ensuring the team is trained, supervised, and equipped to provide the highest quality care. You will collaborate with team members to ensure seamless service delivery and contribute to a positive, empowering experience for the individuals we support.

Key Responsibilities:
General:
• Foster positive communication with individuals supported, team members, and external stakeholders.
• Uphold confidentiality and privacy policies in line with organizational standards.
• Adhere to Simaril Inc. policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements.
• Maintain a high standard of professionalism and personal growth.
• Identify and assess potential risks, ensuring a safe environment for staff and individuals supported.
• Report changes and significant issues to supervisors and, when necessary, to the CEO.
Direct Support:
• Build and maintain positive relationships with individuals supported.
• Understand the unique needs and challenges of individuals to ensure appropriate scheduling and staffing.
• Address concerns and challenges, collaborating with the team to find solutions.
• Facilitate or co-facilitate group activities and programming for individuals supported.
Administration:
• Complete required documentation (incident reports, timesheets, mileage, etc.) within established timelines.
• Review and approve paperwork completed by Outreach Support Mentors.
• Participate in program development, identifying opportunities for growth and improvement.
• Ensure secure record keeping, including personnel files, individual support records, and financial documentation.
• Oversee program budgets, accurately track financial transactions, and maintain financial records.
• Manage staff schedules, ensuring shifts are appropriately filled and communicated.
• Process bi-weekly payroll for Outreach Support Mentors and monitor time-off balances.
Leadership & Supervision:
• Lead and participate in team development activities, including meetings and training sessions.
• Provide mentorship, supervision, and ongoing support to Outreach Support Mentors to ensure high-quality care.
• Facilitate the recruitment, selection, and training of new Outreach Support Mentors.
• Offer guidance in performance management, including feedback and disciplinary action when necessary.
• Serve as an emergency on-call resource and provide crisis support when needed.
• Delegate tasks and ensure that all team members have the resources to succeed in their roles.
Skills and Qualifications:
• 2-3 years of experience in Direct Support Work (a strong asset).
• 2 years of leadership and supervisory experience (required).
• Related post-secondary education.
• Experience supporting individuals with complex needs (e.g., Autism Spectrum Disorder, FASD, mental health challenges).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proven ability to problem-solve and build relationships.
• Attention to detail.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint).
• Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle for work purposes.
• Current Criminal Record Check and Adult & Child Abuse Registry check.
• First Aid Certification (Level C).
Additional Information:
• Full-time position with regular work hours, occasional overtime may be required.
• Competitive compensation, including benefits after 6 months and RRSP after one year.
• Mileage compensation.
