Sherwood Heights School is seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated Resource Care and Supply Teacher to join our team. At Sherwood Heights, we are committed to providing an enriched educational setting that emphasizes academic excellence within a supportive and nurturing environment.

This part-time position involves working closely with students in our after-school care programme, providing classroom coverage as a supply teacher during the school day when needed, and completing light administrative tasks to support daily operations. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children, a passion for supporting students' academic, social, and emotional growth, and the flexibility to contribute positively to the school environment.

Candidate Qualifications

Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) preferred and experience working with children in a school or childcare setting Strong communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills Positive, patient, and caring attitude Strong collaborative skills and ability to work well with colleagues Flexible, reliable, and proactive in supporting students and staff Must be able to reliably commute to or relocate to Mississauga, ON before starting work

Position Responsibilities

Supervise and engage students in a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment during after-school hours Work closely with students to support their academic, social, and emotional well-being Help students at pick-up time and ensure they connect safely with parents or guardians Provide classroom coverage as a supply teacher when required, delivering pre-planned lessons and maintaining a positive classroom environment Communicate effectively with staff, students, and parents

Compensation

Competitive hourly rate based on experience and credentials
