We invite you to bring your warm, engaging customer service to help foster the health and wellbeing of our guests and colleagues as you rotate through the different areas of our Resort Activities department; the Boathouse, Kids Adventure Camp, Health Club, and Guest Activities. Whether our guests are adventuring, playing, swimming, or using the fitness center \xe2\x80\x93 the thoughtful attention you provide will make them feel welcome and valued.
Reporting to the Resort Activities Management team, responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Boathouse (Summer):
Assist guests as they rent a canoe \xe2\x80\x93 taking payment, providing rules and basic canoeing instructions, helping guests into and out of the canoe
Assist in coordinating and facilitating Sunrise Canoe Experiences
Able to maintain a safe environment on the Canoe Dock and Lake for all Guests
Ensuring canoes are in clean working order
To adhere to all Environmental/Health and Safety policies and procedures as required
Adhere to all environmental policies and programs as required
Rental Shop (Winter):
Assist guests at the Ski Rental Shop including: Downhill Skis, Snowboards, Cross-Country Skis, Skates, Snowshoes and more.
Kids Adventure Camp:
Organize activities and supervise up to 10 children ages 5 and up
Assisting Conference Services and Special events with functions as needed
Maintain a safe and fun environment for all children participating in activities
Health/Fitness Center:
Welcome guests to the Health Club and ensure they have a safe and enjoyable experience
Ensure the Health Club area is clean and well maintained with adequate supplies in pool area and change rooms
Instruct guests in use of equipment and ensure safety regulations are adhered to in fitness/pool areas
Guest Activities:
Facilitate activities for all guests, social activities, holiday events, walks, campfires, and more
Assisting Conference Services and Special events with functions as needed
Maintain a safe and fun environment for all guests participating in activities
Additional:
Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
Field questions about the local area
Comply with all the safety regulations of assigned tasks and ensure a clean and safe working environment with active participation in the hotel health and safety program
Assisting with Special Events with functions as needed
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Previous experience in recreation, health club & pools, sport rentals, child care or a similar environment will be an asset
Must possess outstanding guest service skills, including professional verbal communication skills
Interest in health and physical activity, nature enthusiasts
Outgoing, friendly and professional personality
Retail or cash handling experience an asset
Certification in CPR and First Aid required by beginning of contract
Highly responsible and reliable, demonstrating initiative as required
Proven ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced, team-based environment
Ability to meet the physical requirements of the role, including:
Frequent standing and walking throughout shift
Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting
Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
Capable of lifting and moving canoes (90 pounds+)
Capable of pushing pool towel bins (90 pounds+)
You may be required to work on holidays, weekends, overnights and other non-day shifts. Submission of your application to Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise indicates that you are able to meet these requirements as needed.
