Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte (MBQ) is a vibrant First Nation community located on the beautiful shores of the Bay of Quinte. We are located approximately 20 minutes from Belleville, ON and centrally located between Toronto and Ottawa. There are approximately 11,000 registered members with approximately 2200 residing in Tyendinaga. Position Summary:
The Residential Water Sampling Coordinator provides residential water sampling to the homes on Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory. They liaise with internal and external partners and community members.
Reporting:
This position will report to the Director of Community Infrastructure.
Summary of Main Responsibilities:
? Coordinating of site visits as per the MBQ prescribed residential sampling schedule
? Coordinating appointments for the collection of water samples from residential homes in support of maintaining the MBQ water quality database
? Liaising with environmental public health officer, Indigenous Services Canada, accredited water labs and MBQ Community Health Representatives
? Communicating results to residents and providing educational materials
? Working MBQ water delivery manager to ensure residents are informed ab t the safety and protection of their drinking water as required by social media, mailed notices and website
? Updating and maintaining MBQ water results database, ensuring sampling data is entered in Watertrax database and the MBQ database
? Developing and implementing community interaction platforms (social media, online surveys, etc.) to enhance community awareness and knowledge regarding domestic water use, available options and protection of their water supplies
? Reviewing well survey forms completed between January and March 2017, collate and update database
? Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
? Diploma or working towards diploma in Community Health, Environmental Management or related field
? Experience in related field an asset
? A combination of education, training and experience may be considered
? Previous experience working in an Indigenous setting would be considered an asset
? Must provide a clear Criminal Record Check
? Valid Driver's License and clear driver's abstract and own vehicle

? Experience with computer programs (i.e., Microsoft Office, Excel, email, and internet)
? Excellent organizational and time management skills with strong attention to detail
? Good analytical, discretionary and thinking skills
? Well developed interpersonal, public relations, communication and relationship building skills
