Our client is a successful and well-established 3rd party property management company that manages a large portfolio of residential units in the GTA and surrounding communities. They are looking to hire an experienced Residential Property Accountant to join their growing team!

About the role:
The Residential Property Accountant will be responsible for organizing the full accounting cycle for a portfolio of real estate properties. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

Responsibilities would include:

• Prepare month-end journal entries, bank reconciliation, g/l reconciliations to the sub ledger: cash, accounts receivable, inter-company balances, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, accrued expenses and liabilities.
• Organize full accounting cycle for real estate properties.
• Prepare monthly Accounts Receivable reports, monthly vacancy loss reports, weekly availability reports
• Oversee A/R and A/P including review cash requirement reports and reconcile tenant statements. Monitor banking deposits and daily balances.
• Monitor operational expenses monthly by performing variance analysis
• Liaise with property administrators and property managers. Assist site administrators in performing prospective tenant applications and AR collections.
• Maintain third party property files to include mortgage schedules, insurance liability schedules, capital item warranties and revenue contracts

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years\xe2\x80\x99 relevant work experience
• Experience with Yardi Voyageur
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Capable of prioritizing work to meet operational timelines with excellent attention to detail
• Self-motivated, results oriented, flexible and creative
