This is a wonderful opportunity to join an established financial corporation that has been serving dedicated clients for over 20+ years. Primarily specializing in mortgage loans related to real estate and investment matters, they are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager \xe2\x80\x93 Residential, to join their team! Consistently ranked in Business in Vancouver as one of the Biggest Asset Based Lenders in BC, our client has a tight knit team of high performers focused on delivering superior mortgage products and services and pride ourselves on dealing ethically and transparently with all of our stakeholders.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

• This is a career opportunity for a residential mortgage professional to make their mark in a rapidly growing private mortgage lender.
• Your primary responsibility is the origination of residential mortgages from mortgage-brokers, in addition, you will establish a referral network from other lenders and bankers.
• You will do the preliminary underwriting and, with the support of an underwriting and funding team, be involved throughout the entire mortgage lifecycle.
• You will focus on first mortgages of $1.5m \xe2\x80\x93 $5.0m on high-end, well-located homes in BC and Ontario.
• A drive to succeed, attention to detail and strong communication skills are crucial.
• You must be able to read and comment on appraisals in order to justify your opinion of value for any loan you are recommending.

ABOUT THE POSITION

• Locating, educating and developing business relationships with mortgage brokers.
• Enhancing the reputation of the firm by providing great service to mortgage brokers and borrowers.
• Prepare a quarterly and annual business development plan and report weekly on your success in working towards the targets.
• Create and manage a schedule of marketing events and keep marketing materials updated.
• Participate in a weekly conference call with senior management

THE REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar broker-channel role within any of the following mortgage lending entities: credit union, MIC, monoline lender, bank or other private lender.
• Self-motivated, self starter.
• Exceptional organizational skills.
• Excellent verbal and written English language skills.
• Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree.
• Mortgage Brokerage (sub-mortgage broker license) holder (can be acquired before commencing employment).
• Personality of being a connector and relationship builder.

COMPENSATION

The successful candidate will be financially motivated by the lucrative commission structure
