We are Currently looking for an empathetic, passionate persons to join our team as a Residential home manager. This candidate must have a full class 5 Manitoba license and be able to support individuals in their homes and with their daily lives. The candidate must be detail orientated, able to work with fast moving deadlines when needed and adhere to all job requirements and policies of the agency. The house manager is also responsible for on call duties as per the needs of the position. The specific location we are looking for is of higher medical need so experience in the medical field would be an asset. - Residential Home Manager



The Residential Home Manager shall work under the direction of the Residential Associate Coordinator and within the mandate of the Association for Community Living-BB. The Home Manager is responsible for adhering to all policies and procedures of the Association as well as implement and enforce said policies and procedures amongst subordinates. This position at all times will respect and maintain confidentiality of all issues involving clients, co-workers and ACL-BB. This position will at all times abide by the Mission, Vision, and Value Statements of the agency.

Overall Responsibility



The Residential Home Manager is an integral member of the Residential Home Program management team and is responsible for overseeing and managing assigned ACL-BB's residential homes and supports the Residential Direct Support Professionals (DSP) and residents of the homes. He/she provides guidance for client support services and contributes to the development of the Agency's strategic goals. This position is responsible for implementation and management of ACL-BB's processes and programs for the Residential Home Program by providing day to day direction as well as providing guidance with recruiting, training, scheduling, discipline, quality control and administration. The Residential Home Manager will ensure high quality of program delivery and is passionate about supporting individuals with disabilities. He/she will be responsible for program delivery, outcomes measurement, and tracking as well as implementing new programming and meeting the emerging needs of ACL-BB's clients. They will be the first point of contact and a resource for the DSP's under their supervision as well as performs the duties of a DSP as required. The House Manager takes all reasonable care to comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and its regulations in the homes under their supervision.

Requirements

Specific Job Responsibilities



Client Care/Client Services:

Respects and protects the rights of clients, including but not limited to their right to independence, autonomy, and self-determination; their right to choose and practice individual values, beliefs, religion, and culture; their right to privacy and dignity; and their right to live free from retaliation, discrimination, and abuse. The Manager takes every precaution reasonable for the protection of others.The Residential Home Manager will work concurrently with the DSPs on programs and initiatives that enhance participant experience with ACL-BB and their daily lives. He/she will be involved in developing, implementing and monitoring individual plans of individuals that the Agency supports and will discover new approaches to solve any issues that may arise. All incident reports to be reviewed and information provided to the Residential Coordinator for additional investigation and completion to meet the 72 hour required timeframe. The Home Manager is responsible for ensuring that the quality of the programming and client services is exemplary and that any issues are quickly and effectively resolved. This position will at all times work to ensure that the safety and health needs of individuals within ACL-BB are cared for in a respectful way and that they are engaged in activities that work towards their desired outcomes. Works with the DSP's of the residential homes to ensure client`s health and medical needs are accurately attended to in a timely fashion and that all medication is properly administered and recorded. The Residential Home manager will attend medical and specialist appointment with clients of the home they manage to provide support to the resident in these appointments. They will communicate any changes of the medical conditions or medication administration for the client to the DSPs and ensure they have a clear understanding. They will maintain current knowledge of client medication regimes, why each medication is given and the possible side effects. This position will participate in the completion and annual review of financial care plans. They will monitor individual expenditures and prepare monthly reconciliation of individual expense. Recognize and report concerns of abuse or neglect. The Manager takes every precaution reasonable for the protection of others. Attend meetings when necessary for ACL-BB clients and meet with other programs (internal or external), family members involved or those who have a vested interest of the clients under the care the residential program.

Strategy, Vision & Leadership:

The Residential Home Manager will advise the Residential Coordinator and other key members of senior management of any changes arising regarding programming and client care. He/she will work to meet the strategic goals and objectives ACL-BB's senior management set out, as well as manage the Residential Homes they are assigned. The Residential Home Manager will effectively communicate and present critical programming and client service matters to the Residential Coordinator as well as maintain continuous lines of clear communication, keeping the Residential Coordinator informed of all critical issues. They will plan and participate in meetings as required both internally and externally and work towards a productive outcome. If he/she identifies needs for services through day to day operation of the Residential program, he/she will engage the Residential Coordinator for the Coordinator to consider and then initiate proposal process for funding if warranted. Position will represent the organization externally as necessary, particularly in community functions.

Administration/Records Management:

Ensure completion and secure storage of records and documentation in accordance with Association for Community Living policies and procedures. Position is responsible for management and mentorship of Direct Support Professionals regarding their own records management, ie: maintaining client communication binders and Medication Administration Reporting. He/she is responsible for ensuring the homes they work in meet the requirements for licensing and following up on the Quality Assurance Checks which are completed monthly and any issues resolved in a timely manner. This position is responsible for scheduling and ensuring payroll (IBEX) is accurately input for approval for the homes they supervise. This position will participate in the completion and annual review of financial care plans. They will monitor individual expenditures and prepare monthly reconciliation of individual expense. They will manage household funds and ensure accurate recording of purchases, ie: household purchases and groceries and records maintained for audit purposes. Ensure their program is adhering to processes, budgets and client care.

Human Resource Management:

Position is responsible for the oversight of the employees of Residential Home(s) they are assigned to. The Home Manager works closely with the Residential Coordinators to provide ongoing HR management including training, education, discipline and leadership. This position communicates performance expectations, facilitates problem solving, resolves conflict, and manages the performance of the Direct Support Professionals. The Home Manager will promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values learning and commitment to quality and will ensure that staff under his/her direction/program receives timely and appropriate support. They will work closely with the Residential Coordinator, HR and Training and Recruitment Coordinator to provide feedback on programs, processes and training for employees under the Residential program and assist when necessary to develop or enhance current programs or processes. They will provide one on one training/crossing training for all DSP's new to the home they supervise. He/she will establish and monitor staff performance and development goals and conduct annual performance appraisals for direct reports. He/she will advise the Associate Coordinator of the need for processing employment interruption forms DSP's. Position will mentor staff using a supportive and collaborative approach.

Program Leadership:

Provides leadership in the area of program and service delivery by acting as a resource and advising on a variety of client support and service issues and opportunities. The Residential House Manager will be in a rotation with other House Managers to manage the on call program and will provide feedback on critical issues to the Residential Coordinator when necessary for effective operation of the program. The House Manager will ensure clear communication to other departments of ACL-BB when programs overlap to ensure smooth operation of all programs.

Public Relations and Advocacy

: Promotes the concept of inclusion and full community participation. Portray a positive image of clients and ACL-BB including ensuring positive relationships within the community, businesses, families, friends, other agencies and professionals. Maintains effective relationship with government agencies and ensures that the positions of the Agency and its members are presented in accordance with the policies and objectives of the organization.

Professional Development:

Participate in professional development including workshops, career development, and continuing education opportunities to maintain an up to date working knowledge of issues that affect the position. Remain current with relevant issues in the field including promoting and educating staff on advocacy.
