Position Available: Residential Disability Support Worker
Job Overview
As a Residential Disability Support Worker, you will collaborate with a network of caregiver professionals to provide essential care and support to adults with disabilities in a residential setting. This includes assisting with daily living activities, implementing behavior management strategies, supporting participation in activities, and ensuring the overall safety and well-being of residents.
Key Responsibilities
Build positive, trusting relationships with residents.
Collaborate with other caregiver professionals.
Assist with daily living activities (e.g., bathing, dressing, meal preparation).
Provide medication support and meal preparation.
Support residents in community and recreational activities.
Implement behavior management strategies.
Maintain accurate documentation of supports provided.
Uphold resident rights and promote a person-centered approach.
Qualifications
6 to 18 months of experience supporting adults with disabilities in a residential setting.
Knowledge of behavior management strategies and ability to de-escalate behaviors of concern.
Effective communication skills (verbal and written).
Intermediate computer skills.
Experience working with persons with developmental disabilities: 1 year (preferred).
Work Schedule & Location
Monday to Friday Split Shift:
House 1:
1:00 PM - 5:00 PM
House 2:
6:00 PM - 9:00 PM
You will be supporting two residential programs located within a
5-minute drive or 15-20 minute bus ride
of each other.
There is a
1-hour unpaid break
between shifts (5:00-6:00 PM). During this time, staff are responsible for arranging their own commute between House 1 and House 2 at their own cost.
No travel allowance is provided; commute time between houses is unpaid.
Compensation & Benefits
Pay: $18.61 - $20.34 per hour
Expected hours: 15 - 35 per week
