Job Description

We are seeking a Residential Manager for our resources in our Abbotsford Location. The Residential Manager will be responsible for supervising and supporting the staff and clients. You will ensure the well-being and safety of staff and clients by overseeing daily operations, coordinating staff schedules, implementing and monitoring care plans, and maintaining a supportive and inclusive living environment. This position is highly administrative in nature as you will be responsible for ensuring all reporting is aligned with the SHSS and CARF standards. You will provide ongoing guidance to staff in relation to supporting Empathway Services clients, agency policies/procedures and CARF accreditation standards. Additionally, the residential Manager will collaborate with external agencies, supervise resources, and address any issues to promote a positive and empowering experience for both staff and clients.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES:



Oversees the day-to-day operations of a Care Setting, provides ongoing supervision of Service Provider Personnel and Subcontractors, and evaluates program policies.

Familiar with the SHSS Specialized Services Portal

Supports the development of the SHSS Service Plan in collaboration with the child or youth and their SHSS Care Circle.

Develops, implements, and evaluates Care Setting goals, objectives, policies and procedures and ensures the required standards are maintained within the SHSS Specialized Services Portal. Identifies both physical and program needs of the Care Setting to appropriate authority(ies). Plans with Service Provider Personnel and Subcontractors for changes.

Schedules, supervises, and evaluates Service Provider Personnel and Subcontractors and monitors daily operations.

Assists in recruiting and selecting Service Provider Personnel and Subcontractors and provides guidance, training and orientation on policies, procedures, techniques, report preparation or other matters arising in the Care Setting.

Identifies the needs of Service Provider Personnel and Subcontractors for professional development.

Assists senior management in preparing the annual operating budget and monitors, authorizes and allocates expenditures within the budget. Prepares and maintains related documentation.

Ensures the cleanliness, safety, security, and maintenance of the Care Setting in accordance with applicable licensing standards either directly or through delegation to Service Provider Personnel and Subcontractors.

Maintains the Care Setting's inventory of supplies.

Works as a Residential Child and Youth Worder or an Awake Residential Night Worker performing the duties as required; appropriately delivering or enables strategies established in children's and youth's SHSS Service Plan.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:



A diploma in related human/social service field and/or the equivalent combination of education and experience

Three years relevant related experience, including 1-year supervisory experience

Strong administrative and communication skills

Completion of required trainings - First Aid, Mandt, Suicide Prevention, FoodSafe, Naloxone, MCFD Privacy Training

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:



Knowledge of drug and alcohol misuse

Knowledge of non-violent conflict resolution strategies

Knowledge of group process and facilitation techniques

Knowledge of policies related to the Ministry for Child and Family Development

Knowledge of policies related to CARF Accreditation

Knowledge and Experience with obtaining and keeping with CARF Standards

Able to work effectively with other program staff, contractors, management, therapists, community members, family, social workers, etc.

Exhibits a proactive approach

Able to work independently in under pressure and in stressful situations

Able to write clear, legible, factual, and concise reports.

Demonstrable leadership skills

Interviewing and assessment skills

Able to use computer programs

Able to comfortably use e-mail with attachments including saving files/reports and sending files/reports.

Good interpersonal, oral and written skills

Able to communicate effectively with clientele, colleagues and other collaterals in person, by attending meetings, making phone contact, and through e-mail.

Good organization, time and general management skills

Knowledge of group process and facilitation techniques
