VRS Communities provides compassionate, client-centered care in residential settings. Our Children's Program supports youth with diverse needs in a safe, respectful, and nurturing environment. We are urgently hiring for our East Vancouver site (near Nanaimo St and 1st Ave).

Job Summary



Reporting to the Site Supervisor, the Residential Care Attendant is responsible for providing direct care and support to children in a group home setting. This includes assisting with daily living activities, maintaining a safe and clean environment, and fostering a positive, respectful atmosphere for residents.

Key Responsibilities



Provide gentle, respectful, and safe care to children at all times. Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, grooming, toileting, dressing). Support meal preparation and food service, ensuring awareness of allergies and sensitivities. Perform housekeeping and laundry duties as required. Observe and report changes in behavior or health to the Site Supervisor. Follow individual care plans and maintain confidentiality. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and licensing standards. Participate in team meetings and training as required.

Qualifications



Education & Certification:



Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent.

Canadian

Health Care Assistant

(HCA) diploma required.

Active and good standing status with the

BC Care Aide Registry required.

Valid and Active

Food Safe Level 1 Certificate required.

Valid and Active

Standard First Aid with CPR-C Certificate required.

Active LPN license is an asset.

Experience:



Previous experience in residential care or working with children with diverse needs preferred.

Other Requirements:



Clear Criminal Record Check for the vulnerable sector. Clear Criminal Record Check via the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD). Negative TB test and immunization record. Proof of two COVID-19 vaccinations. Must not have been a previous resident in Ontario or Alberta.

Class 4 or 5 BC Driver's License is required.

Additional Information



Must be available for evening shifts (3 PM - 11 PM). Casual availability required (minimum 3 shifts per month). Starting wage: $27.92/hour, paid bi-weekly.
