Job Description

We are looking for an intermediate level technician looking to grow into a senior level position with the training, opportunities and guidance provided by our team.

Liptons Audio Video is a high-end home audio video store with over 40 years in business, focused on custom installation of media rooms, home theatres, hi-fi, home automation, automated shades, landscape lighting, outdoor audio systems, home networking and surveillance.

Our retail store is located in Newmarket, and we service clients throughout the GTA, York Region, Simcoe County and Cottage Country. We pride ourselves in bringing tailored, quality solutions to our clients homes & cottages by being passionate about industry products, staying current on the latest technology, and advocating for our clients by delivering ongoing service and support.

We are currently seeking a candidate who is ready to grow their fundamental knowledge of residential home installation including theatre installation and set up, multi room audio, networking skills, and other industry specific skills.

Liptons is a fast-paced, challenging and rewarding workplace. You will be supported by Sr. technicians, sales staff, industry professionals and both on-site and dedicated training sessions.

The ideal candidate must work well in both teams and individually with strong organizational and communication skills and carry out installations within the specified timeframe and to a high standard of fit and finish in an efficient manner. The ideal candidate will be expected to professionally represent Liptons Audio Video to the on-site team that includes clients, designers, developers and architects and their trades.

Your Role & Responsibilities:



Installation of TV's, Sound systems, and universal remote control systems Installation of high end audio and video equipment Conduct pre-site inspections to determine appropriate product and labour time recommendations to sales staff Custom home theatre installation including screens, projectors, in-wall, on-wall, cabinet style speakers, and subwoofers Installation and configuration of IP cameras and NVR's Completing low-voltage pre-wiring Basic network troubleshooting and configuration In-Shop and On-Site rack building and testing Maintaining a clean and professional work area and following safety procedures while working in customers homes Keeping accurate records and communicating with the team to ensure project expectations are met All installation and service must meet the highest quality standards set forth by Liptons Audio Video, while assuring a professional and safe working environment.

Growth Opportunities



Liptons will provide training towards the following: Installation, programming, integration and maintenance of home automation systems. Installation and programming of smart lighting control and automated shades Networking Access Points, Routers, Managed and Unmanaged Switches etc. Experience opportunities to program and install of Lutron RA2/RA3, Control4, URC, and Shades Reading and understanding architectural drawings Develop and practise problem solving skills in order to think on your feet and come up with creative solutions to complex problems.

What We're Looking For:



Minimum 2 years of experience in residential/commercial audio/video/automation installation Enthusiasm and passion for Audio Video and Smart Home Technology High level of comfort with hand and power tools Detail oriented, energetic, professional, dependable and personable. Must be able to multi-task and offer a professional level of customer service. Self-starter comfortable working independently or as part of a team. Able to perform basic mathematical calculations and take accurate measurements Effective communication skills with a positive, professional, and friendly attitude Computer skills are required, basic networking knowledge is expected Have a valid G Class driver's licence and clean driving record Must be able to lift and carry at least 50lbs unassisted. Must be able to sit, stand, kneel, climb stairs and ladders

We are NOT looking for applicants with experience solely in live events and sound engineering as this is not our industry, most often these skills are not transferable.
