Job Summary
The Resident Services Coordinator at RiverBend Seniors Community is a central and visible presence, providing residents with a point of contact for various in-suite or building questions or maintenance issues.
Key Responsibilities
Resident Interaction
Be available regularly for inquiries and consultation with residents.
Assess residents' needs based on inquiries and undertake assistance or refer to appropriate resources.
Engage with residents to encourage social interaction and participation.
Attempt to resolve technology-related challenges without replacing providers' tech support.
Building Operations
Stay current on building bylaws, rules, and policies developed by the Strata Council.
Be familiar with routine building operation information to assist residents in locating amenities, using enterphone/elevator/keypads, events scheduling, and notice board locations.
Parking control including monitoring insurance renewals, and responding to parking violations.
Transport residents on RiverBend bus to weekly grocery shopping centers, and provide backup for bus outings.
Oversee new resident move-ins and move-outs to units not in the rental pool or in Oncore suites.
Administrative Duties
Maintain databases tracking pet registration, licensing and vaccinations, gardening plots, scooter room stalls, assigned parking, in-house library usage, and resident move-ins and move-outs.
Distribute resident communications, updates, and information.
Ensure the RiverBend van is serviced and maintained regularly; clean the inside weekly and arrange annual detailing.
Create invoices to bill back services to owners.
Coordinate and monitor new owner or renter move-ins and move-outs for units not in the rental pool or in Oncore units.
Responsible for petty cash reconciliation.
Ensure bylaws are adhered to by residents.
Educate residents about the Blue Bottle program and distribute Blue Bottles.
Resource Hub
Act as a resource hub for information on:
Applying for Old Age Security (OAS) or Guaranteed Income Supplement (GIS)
Canada Pension Plan (CPP) or Disability (CPP-D) benefits
BC Income Assistance or Persons with Disabilities (PWD) benefits
Fair Pharmacare or medication coverage support
Medical Services Plan (MSP) enrollment or assistance
Accessing food banks or meal delivery programs
Home care (nursing, bathing, etc.)
Mental health or counselling referrals
Harm reduction, addiction, or recovery services
Seniors' wellness checks or safety planning
Medical resources and/or forms
Transportation options and assistance with access
Technology Assistance
Help residents set up or troubleshoot TV, internet, or phone services.
Assist residents in learning to use smartphones, tablets, or computers.
Provide access to a public computer or printer.
Assist with online services and navigating BC Gov services online (MyGovBC, CRA, etc.).
Collaboration and Teamwork
Cover for the Activity Coordinator when required.
Assist with activities as requested by the Activity Coordinator.
Meet regularly with the Activity Coordinator to support each other's roles.
Provide information opportunities to volunteer or help in RiverBend or the community at large.
Other tasks, activities, and strata corporation related business as directed by the strata council.
Qualifications
Grade 12 or equivalent
Desired education as a Recreational/Activity Assistant or a Diploma/Degree in Therapeutic Recreation.
2 years of recent related experience working with seniors in a therapeutic recreation setting.
Preferred Class 4 BC driver's license or willingness to obtain.
Valid First Aid Certificate including CPR.
Food Safe Level 1.
Serving It Right certification.
Must complete a criminal record check.
