CASUAL RESIDENT SERVICE AIDE / DIETARY AIDE / HOUSEKEEPING

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Resident Service Aide/Housekeeping/Dietary Aide is responsible in assisting with the day-to-day operations of the lodge with the ultimate goal of ensuring the residents receive a high quality of care.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Always display a pleasant and courteous disposition when dealing with residents and staff

Exhibit a desire to work with seniors

Cooperate with other staff members and community resource personnel who are working in the lodge realizing that all workers are part of a "Team" to provide the best possible service to help improve and maintain the quality of life for residents of Rotary House

Be able to work without supervision and the ability to cope with unexpected situations and/or minor problems that may arise from time to time

Be able to offer resident assistance with a variety of care needs as required along with assisting with disoriented residents

Provide porter of offer "stand by" assistance to those residents requiring assistance to and from their room

Answer phone and receive visitors

Perform housekeeping/dietary duties as per shift schedule

Perform other responsibilities and activities as may be assigned from time to time.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

Grade 12 or equivalent

Personal Support Worker certification or equivalent training and/or a minimum of two years' experience working with seniors

Physically fit to perform all responsibilities and activities and knowledge of proper body mechanics and lifting techniques to avoid injury on the job

Possess good organizational skills

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Must provide a Criminal Record Check for review and acceptance.

SALARY:

$35.34 per hour
