Job Description

The RCA will assist the resident care worker to perform personal care while promoting the health, comfort, and safety of residents concerning physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs.

Qualifications:

Grade Ten (10) education is required for this position. Previous experience working with elderly would be an asset. This position requires a motivated individual who works well with minimal supervision. Neat and Clean appearance. The RCA will establish and maintain good interpersonal relationship with co-workers, residents, visitors and other staff.

Responsibilities:

Answer call bells Assist with feeding of residents Assist in Kitchen, when required Serve meals to residents Clean up dining area after each meal ie: sweep floors, wipe tables Ensure residents face and hands are clean Serve drinks and snacks to residents twice a day Socialize with residents, Take residents for short walks, read with/to resident If Activity Department is doing activities with residents, assist if available Accompany residents, along with a drive, to appointments when required Function as part of multidisciplinary team Check fridges daily and restock with juices, fresh water and snacks, as needed. Wipe down fridge when needed. Ensure temperature of fridge is maintained at 4 degrees Participate in fire drills Respect confidentiality on matters pertaining to the Lodge, residents and staff Take pride in work and be self-motivated. Attend in-service training. Assist with orientation of new staff Other duties as required.

Pay: $18.00-$24.50 per hour
