Founded in 1843, the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University of Toronto is globally recognized for its role as an influential leader in all dimensions of healthcare for women, trans people, and nonbinary people. Our faculty members generate practice-changing research, improve national standards of care, advance public policy, and prepare the next generations of physician-leaders in the field. With this position, you would be joining a dynamic administrative team who directly facilitate and support the advancement of research, education, and knowledge translation in obstetrics and gynaecology, from a local to a global perspective.

As the Residency Program Coordinator, you will work collaboratively under the guidance of the Residency Program Director and the Residency Program Officer to support Canada\'slargest and most prestigious residency program in obstetrics and gynaecology. Serving as the primary point of contact, you will respond to residency program related enquiries for a variety of stakeholders, including approximately 75 residents. You will liaise with university and hospital staff, trainees, faculty, and outside vendors to coordinate program activities, assist with the execution of events and provide a wide array of program support. Your outstanding organizational skills and clear and effective communication skills will contribute to the ongoing success of the residency program.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing detailed information to residents on program and/or course requirements
  • Scheduling appointments for prospective residents, current residents, and faculty members
  • Responding to enquiries within the defined scope of the role and redirecting to other staff members or faculty as appropriate
  • Writing routine documents and correspondence
  • Supporting committees including the Residency Program Committee with scheduling, meetings, coordinating agendas, materials and action items
  • Determining logistical details and activities for various events and programming (including weekly Academic Half Day sessions)
  • Updating and maintaining resident records
Essential Qualifications:
  • Bachelor\'s Degree or acceptable combination of education and equivalent experience
  • Minimum two years\' experience in an administrative role in an academic or health related environment
  • Demonstrated experience handling multiple simultaneous projects with competing deadlines
  • Experience in providing excellent frontline customer support
  • Experience with minute-taking, agendas, managing calendars, and supporting committees
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and set/balance competing priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, showing initiative and good judgement, while also working cooperatively as an effective team member
  • Effective project management skills with excellent prioritization and time management skills
