Job Description

As a Residence Worker, you'll support adults with diverse abilities in a safe, home-like setting. You'll promote independence, encourage community connections, and provide personal care with compassion and respect.



What You'll Do:



Supporting residents' physical, emotional, and social well-being Collaborating on individualized goals with residents and caregivers Preparing meals and managing dietary needs Assisting with daily living tasks and household duties Administering medications and supporting health needs Promoting life skills, self-advocacy, and healthy choices Managing appointments, transportation, and finances Handling documentation and maintaining accurate records Responding to risks or emergencies to keep everyone safe

What You Bring:



Certificate in Community Support, Resident Care, Home Support, or a related field 1 year of recent experience supporting adults or seniors with diverse abilities Or an equivalent mix of education, training, and hands-on experience

Other Musts:



Valid Class 5 driver's license and clean driving record Access to a safe vehicle (may need Business Use insurance - reimbursement available) Physically able to support individuals with personal care, mobility aids, lifting, and recreational activities Willingness to complete mandatory training (provided free); certifications like CPR-C, Safe Food Handling, and Medication Management are assets Must join the union (1.85% dues deducted per pay) Successful background check through the BC Ministry of Public Safety is required.

16 hours per week

SCHEDULE:

Saturday and Sunday, 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM

REPORTS TO:

Youth Outreach Program Coordinator

COMPENSATION:

$25.95 - $29.76 per hour (Grid 10 as per collective agreement)
