Primary Function: Research, develop and provide recommendations and/or study the feasibility of work under the Education Innovation & Research Programs. Provides research, technical or analytical information on the basis of assigned projects. Provides written documentation for briefings, updates, forward planning or to assist translators in the collection of oral evidence/statements. ________________________________________________________________________ Typical Duties and Responsibilities: Research and Study
  • Research and compile archival documents.
  • Track and maintain documents on specific areas.
  • Analyze and redefine the various problems presented to determine the methods of obtaining relevant information.
  • Provide advice and assistance to other engaged in related legal and historical (oral history or documentary/archival) research.Provide research advice on proposals, participate on team projects where monitoring of research may be required.
  • Identify, research and provide analysis, for consideration, on new and/or revisions to current legislation and policies that relate to the promotion, enhancement and implementation of the Treaty Rights or related department initiatives.
  • Gap analysis.
  • Provide advice and assistance to First Nation Communities on the use and implementation of the Treaty & Inherent Rights Based Education Funding Model Template and resources.
Summary of Data/Reports
  • Assist in the creation or enhancement of a database that would network people from all cultures so that they can gain data access and an awareness.
  • Convert/summarize data into useable reports which may include tables, graphs, charts or other summaries.
  • Provide recommendations based on research conducted.
Data Entry
  • Input all research and data into the computer.
  • Initiate a database.
Implementation and Design Planning Phase/Budget
  • Provide viable options for implementing this project.
  • Develop structure to accomplish this task.
  • Identify funding costs for this project.
Other
  • Other related duties as may be assigned from time to time.

  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree appropriate to the position assignment.
Experience
  • 4 years in related field.
  • Computer skills \xe2\x80\x93 Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet, Zoom.
  • A combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Knowledge and understanding of First Nations customs, culture and history.
Salary is based on an established grid and commensurate with qualifications and experience. Only candidates selected for interviews will be contacted. Job Type: Contract Schedule:
