As a Research Technologist in the Pluripotent Stem Cell (PSC) Core facility, you’ll be working collaboratively with teams across the R&D Department to maintain high quality human pluripotent stem cells (hPSCs) for use in testing new and existing products and platform technologies. You will spend your days in the lab performing and troubleshooting standard procedures to culture and characterize hPSCs, analyzing data, and crafting reports to present to your team. This position is perfect for recent BSc graduates who want to continue honing their laboratory skills and develop as researchers while contributing to innovative science around the globe.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintain, distribute, and monitor cell quality of hPSC lines for use in internal PSC-related projects
  • Perform lab maintenance and operational tasks to keep lab environment organized
  • Execute experiments with input from the supervisor, including establishing or optimizing protocols for inter-departmental use
  • Troubleshoot experiments and procedures, document experimental observations, identify and analyze unexpected trends in data, and present findings at departmental meetings
  • Provide training or consultation on laboratory techniques and product protocols to teams across the R&D department
Knowledge and Qualifications
  • BSc. in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry or related area, with 6 months - 4 years relevant lab experience (i.e. academic, industry and/or co-op lab experience) preferred
  • Practical experience in aseptic mammalian cell culture is highly desirable, familiarity with a variety of laboratory techniques such as flow cytometry, qPCR, and microscopy is an asset
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including experience presenting your own data to small and large groups and writing reports
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis and data interpretation preferred
  • Ability to function well in a team-oriented environment
