Position Description

We are seeking a Research Technologist I to join our research team in the laboratory of Dr. Grace Egan at the Sick Kids Research Institute. Our laboratory is focused on studying leukemia cells and stem cells to develop better therapies for young patients with this disease. The selected candidate will join an exciting research environment focused on translational aspects of leukemia biology and therapeutic development. Working in a fast-paced environment, we require a biologist with strong skills in cancer mouse models, flow cytometry and cell culture who can multi-task and enjoys working as part of a research team.

Here's What You'll Get To Do:




The Research Technologist I will be responsible for all aspects of mouse handling and in vivo experimental procedures, including dosing, monitoring, and tissue collection. They will perform flow cytometry based assays and assist with sample processing, staining, and data acquisition. Additional responsibilities include general laboratory support, maintaining reagents and equipment, and contributing to routine molecular and cellular experiments as needed.

Here's What You'll Need:



MSc or PhD degree in biological science Minimum of 3 years' related experience Experience in cell culture is mandatory Experience in molecular biology techniques is mandatory Experience in flow cytometry is mandatory Experience working with cancer mouse models is required Excellent organizational and communication skills Ability to work in a team and independently A commitment to understanding and aiding in the pursuit of equity, diversity and inclusion objectives

Employment Type:

Full-time temporary 1 year contract with modified benefits (i.e., health & dental), 1.0 FTE
