Hours: 35 work hours per week
Wage range or Salary: $34.14 per hour to $42.67 per hour (To commensurate with experience and consistent with UHN compensation policy)
Status: Temporary Full Time

Position Summary

We are looking for outstanding, detail-oriented, graduates in the Life Sciences to be part of our team. UHN Biospecimen Services Research Technician III will work with permanent staff primarily in oncological specimen and histological slide analysis. As part of our team, you may:

  • Compile data from related and/or unrelated sources.
  • Perform complex histological analyses and experiments.
  • Communicate with stakeholders across UHN, nationally and maintain records of experimental data.
  • Have the opportunity to present at scientific meetings.
A Master of Science degree in Life Sciences, Bioinformatics or other related field is required. Other requirements:
  • Strong knowledge of Pathology, Immunohistochemistry, and analysis of H&E slides.
  • Undergraduate coursework in human anatomy, physiology, microscopy, and molecular biology preferred.
  • Demonstrated interest in human diseases such as cancer, cardiovascular and infectious diseases, and multi-organ transplantation.
  • Proficient in medical terminology
  • Six (6) months related research or technical experience
  • Self-starter able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent problem recognition and problem-solving abilities
  • Effective organizational, time management and prioritization skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Client service experience an asset
