Closing Date: September 15, 2024Position SummaryOur UHN Biospecimen Program processes and stores research samples from patients with cancer, infectious and other diseases, or who are undergoing organ transplantation. The biospecimens are used by world-class internal or external medical researchers.We are looking for outstanding, recent graduates from a Life Sciences programs to be part of our team. As a Research Technician I with our program, you may participate in coordinating research projects such as personalized medicine clinical trials. Or you may work on a research project isolating pancreatic tumour cells using laser capture microdissection. You may also be involved in processing blood and body fluids from patients undergoing organ transplantation or participate in BioBanking Informatics to link clinical and research data from patients with a variety of benign or malignant diseases. Whatever the project, you\'ll have the opportunity to work in a state-of-the-art biobank supporting cutting edge research at UHN and around the world.DutiesOur UHN Biospecimen Program Research Technician I will work with other staff in the three areas of the Program: Biobanking (research specimen banking and distribution), Information Technology and Biospecimen Analysis.
