POSITION SUMMARY:

The SE Research Centre conducts impact-oriented health services research to synthesize, generate, translate, adapt and directly apply scientific evidence in the design, delivery and evaluation of person and family-centered health and social care services.

The primary role of the Research Student is to provide support to health services research projects within the SE Research Centre priority research fields.

PROJECT OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a graduate level nursing student with interest in community health nursing to support a scoping review project on community health nursing competencies in Canada. This is a great opportunity to explore the field of nursing research, under the supervision of a nurse scientist, with potential for gaining conference presentation and publication experiences.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Working in collaboration with a nurse scientist and librarian, develop and execute a scoping review search strategy
  • Conduct literature screening process, data extraction and analysis with the project team
  • Coordinate, participate and document action items from team meetings
  • Create project workback plan(s)Participate in writing research conference abstracts, and publications
QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience
  • Nursing graduate student
  • An understanding of and/or experience working in, home and community-based care
Skill Requirements

Experience working with research literature databases (e.g., PubMed, CINAHL)
  • Experience using Covidence preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to plan projects
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Ability to contribute to a team under complex research and organizational conditions, and in an environment of multiple priorities
  • Diplomacy and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent problem solving, creative thinking and decision-making capacity
