Position Description

The Respiratory Therapist will provide respiratory assessment to children with neuromuscular conditions as part of a research study.
Here's What You'll Get To Do
Explain study procedures related to respiratory assessment and ventilator sprinting to participants and families.
Evaluate participant ability to complete the respiratory testing maneuvers
Administer established and novel respiratory assessment measures including oximetry, capnography, maximal inspiratory and expiratory muscle strength and ventilator sprinting evaluations
Document study procedure results in case report forms
Work in collaboration with other members of the research team, including the participant and their family.
Here's What You'll Need
Successful completion of a Registered Respiratory Therapy Program.
Current registration with the College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario.
Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience (experience with paediatric neuromuscular patients is preferred).
Experience with trache/vented patients required (paediatric preferred)
Clinical research experience is preferred.
Ability to collaborate effectively as a member of the research team and to take initiative when appropriate.
Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
Demonstrated ability to utilize critical thinking and problem solving skills.
Attention to detail and efficient time management.
Flexible work schedule required
