The Rehabilitation Sciences Sector (RSS) in the Temerty Faculty of Medicine is a worldleader in the delivery of rehabilitation sciences health professional programs and research. The RSS is comprised of four essential departments: Department of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy (OSOT), Department of Physical Therapy (PT), Rehabilitation Sciences Institute (RSI), and the Department of Speech-Language Pathology (SLP).



As Research Project Manager, you will provide research, knowledge mobilization, and administrative support to the Acquired Lab in the Rehabilitation Sciences Sector. Your strong research management skills and relationship building skills will enable you to contribute to project planning, data analysis, communications and overseeing project expenditures. You will foster and sustain positive collaborations with existing and potential collaborators, faculty, staff, students, and other end-users of research.



Your responsibilities will include:



Assessing needs and contributing to the planning of research goals, including selecting methods of data collection and analysis Developing project schedules including milestones, critical path, timelines, deliverables and reporting, maintaining project records and information on digital platforms Drafting summaries of research project results for knowledge transfer outputs such as publications, writing grant applications and drafting and submitting documents to the Research Ethics Board (REB) for approval Designing, pre-testing and formatting executing qualitative and/or quantitative research surveys, interviews and other research data collection methods Synthesizing technical, qualitative and contextual research data, analyzing reports for research papers including for systematic/scoping or other literature reviews Planning and estimating financial resources required for programs and projects, handling expense reimbursements Supervising the activities and workflow of research assistants; scheduling day-to-day project activities, overall lab management and lab meetings

Essential Qualifications:





Master's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience Minimum five years experience in clinical health research projects and programs Experience coordinating the research ethics board (REB) approval process Demonstrated experience supporting project initiatives through developing project schedules, estimating financial resources, assessing and selecting methods of data collection, coordinating meetings and maintaining communications and positive relationships with stakeholders Experience researching, identifying, and advising on new funding opportunities Demonstrated experience disseminating and interpreting granting agency procedures, as well as experience writing grant applications Experience writing communications materials for correspondence, project materials such as grants, documents and reports, and contributing to research findings that are published in academic journals Experience synthesizing complex research data, conducting literature/scoping/systematic reviews and summarizing statistical reports and summaries; delivering presentations and training to staff and stakeholder Experience with laboratory maintenance, including troubleshooting equipment issues and tracking license agreements Strong computer literacy with an advanced proficiency of MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint), RIS, and website management Demonstrated understanding of the research granting life cycle and knowledge of research ethics board process Ability to adapt to new ideas, learn quickly and exercise a high degree of judgement and initiative in decision-making situations while working with a variety of stakeholders Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate (both written and verbal) with stakeholders Meticulous attention to detail

USW Pay Band 13 - $84,813. with an annual step progression to a maximum of $108,463. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
