Oberland Agriscience is a sustainable black soldier fly larvae (BSFL) farm in Halifax, NS. We are focused on closing the food loop in our region and making a positive contribution to our planet. Oberland's high performing team rears BSFL in our zero-waste facility and delivers exceptional productivity per hectare yielding a nutrient rich, low environmental impact protein. Partnering with local food producers and distributors, Oberland upcycles organic by-products such as spent grains from your favourite craft brewery to grow BSFL on an industrial scale. Oberland continues to play a role in a more sustainable circular economy in our region.

Deploying an organic by-products-to-alternate protein approach, Oberland produces several insect derived products. Oberland generates high quality sustainable protein from larvae and a fertilizer product for home gardens and agricultural lands. #closingthefoodloop

We are looking for a committed and engaged R&D Lab Analyst for our facility to contribute to the safe and reliable operation of this unique and cutting-edge farm and production facility.

The context for the role of R&D Lab Analyst is to continuously evaluate and improve our products and investigate new ones.

Key Support Person: Research and Development Coordinator

Functional Responsibilities / Job Duties

Revenue

Conduct laboratory analysis for process and product final approval

Conduct laboratory experiments and tests to support R&D projects

Conduct literature reviews to identify and summarize scientific data supporting research and development.

Assist in the analysis and interpretation of data, preparation of detailed reports and presentations of findings

Assist in validating methods and procedures, including supporting trial design, and data collection

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support project timelines

Maintain accurate and organized records of experiments and results

Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory standards

Stay current with advancements in technology and industry trends
