The anticipated start date is April 15, 2024.The Research Associate is expected to collaborate in the work of the Dictionary of Old English, especially by aiding in the process of entry productionResponsibilities will include:

  • Acquiring and analyzing research material from the Editors, including data-entry of draft entries
  • Copyediting and proofreading Dictionary of Old English entries prepared by the Editors
  • Collecting feedback from the DOE International Advisory Board and transmitting it to the Editors
  • Training and mentoring research assistants
  • Producing annual research reports
  • Preparing and delivering articles, book chapters, books, and conference presentations related to the promotion of the Dictionary of Old English and affiliated research projects.

  • A PhD in Medieval Studies or English Studies
Experience
  • Minimum five year of experience in Old English Studies
Skills
  • Excellent knowledge of Old English
  • Excellent knowledge of Digital Humanities
  • Excellent research and analytical skills, as well as strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team, communicate, and give & receive constructive feedback
  • Ability to supervise, delegate to, and mentor post-doctoral fellows and research assistants
  • Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion and the promotion of a respectful and collegial learning and work environment
  • Demonstrated experience in grant writing, publishing research, attending conferences, and presenting research
Additional skills required include project management, leadership, and interpersonal skills to assist in the guidance and implementation of a research project comprised of a multi-disciplinary and international team of scholars.Closing Date: 03/22/2024, 11:59PM ET
