Position Overview The Department of Geography in the Faculty of Arts invites applications for a Research Associate, Water Resources (Hydrology). This Full-time Fixed Term position is for approximately 12 months (based on length of grant funding), with the possibility of extension. This position reports to the Primary Investigator. The position is comprised of technical, research, and project management functions related to advanced research topics in integrated climate-hydrologic- system modelling, including hydrologic and hydraulic modelling, model development, development of modelling workflows, and floodplain mapping. General instructions will be provided and the employee will need to make decisions about how the work will be completed within set timelines. The nominal University of Calgary work week is 35 hours. Working conditions include lab, occasional field work, and will sometimes involve irregular hours such as weekend and evening work. Fieldwork will sometimes involve exposure to inclement weather and the potential for wildlife encounters. The position is based at the University of Calgary but will involve travel within Canada, and occasionally to international conferences.
