Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient- centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.

Position Overview

The Centre for Healthcare Innovation Evaluation team specializes in health services and community/population health research, focusing on problem-focused research. Research Associates work closely with decision makers in addressing research questions of priority to the healthcare system. Ongoing communication and negotiation with stakeholders is required. Duties include:

  • Coordinating and undertaking research-related activities on a range of research, evaluation and knowledge translation projects undertaken by the Evaluation team.
  • Providing leadership and coordinating specific projects, and responsibility areas.
  • Collaborating on research and evaluation projects; including developing and strengthening decision-maker/researcher partnerships.
Experience
  • Skills in:
  • Health economics.
  • Critical review of economic evaluation literature.
  • Statistical analysis.
  • SAS, SPSS, STATA or other applied statistical programs.
  • Experience and theoretical knowledge of
  • Health services research specific to economic evaluation.
  • Experience in using large administrative databases to answer research/evaluation questions.
  • Experience in, and commitment to, effective knowledge translation strategies.
  • Experience in working on collaborative research and/or evaluation projects required.
  • Ability to develop research reports, articles and presentations for both academic and lay audiences.
  • Experience in a community health, or health services field a strong asset.
  • Experience in program evaluation/evaluation research a strong asset.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
  • Masters degree in Health Services, Epidemiology, Community Health Sciences, Public Health, or social science discipline, PhD preferred.
  • Academic preparation in research methods.
