Zymeworks is proudly headquartered in our brand new, net-zero facility located in the vibrant Main St biotech hub of Vancouver, BC, with operations in Seattle, WA, San Francisco, CA and Dublin, Ireland. Key Responsibilities

  • Performs advanced experiments for the functional characterization of multispecific antibodies for different pipeline programs, using various co-culture assays and experimental techniques, following established protocols.
  • Applies knowledge of scientific methodologies in conducting technically demanding analyses and interpretation.
  • Troubleshoots methods and suggests novel and impactful changes to methods.
  • Contributes to experimental design to advance therapeutic programs.
  • Documents raw and analyzed data and maintains inventory databases.
  • Independently interprets results and presents to team.
  • Prepares written reports and analysis of complex experiments.
  • May provide advanced technical guidance.
  • Reviews work of team members for thoroughness and completeness.
  • Seeks to understand ongoing projects through extensive attention to scientific literature and internally generated data.
  • Assists in maintaining a clean, neat, organized and operational lab.
  • Conducts all activities in accordance with scientific standards, OH&S regulations and established policies and practices.
  • May co-author or author scientific papers.
  • Actively works to foster an environment of effective and collaborative working relationships amongst employees, management, and external partners.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Requires a BSc in a scientific discipline and a minimum of 2-3 years related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Skills and Abilities
  • Proven interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively as a member of a cross-functional team.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Good organizational skills and the ability to work effectively in a high paced, fast changing environment.
  • Critical observation skills and strong statistical analysis capability.
  • Excellent oral, presentation and scientific/technical writing skills.
  • Advanced knowledge and proficiency in the following lab techniques:
  • Flow cytometry
  • ELISA/MSD
  • High-content analysis
  • Immunological/co-culture assays
  • Reporter Gene Assays
  • Cell-separation
  • General knowledge of antibody structure/function
  • Transient transfection of mammalian cell lines
  • Mammalian tissue culture
