The Research Methods Unit (RMU), located in Halifax, is a research unit designed to support clinical and health research throughout Nova Scotia Health, the IWK Health Centre, and Dalhousie University\'s Faculties of Medicine, Health Professions and Dentistry.

Reporting to the Principal Investigator, the Research Associate contributes to clinical research within Research Cardiovascular Surgery. Responsibilities include study administration, undertaking literature reviews, preparation of research proposal drafts and budgets, searching for funding opportunities, preparing grant submissions and drafting reports and manuscripts as well as data analysis.

About the Opportunity

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Bachelor\'s degree in a health sciences or social sciences discipline (e.g. epidemiology, community/public health, biostatistics, education, law or health economics)
  • Master\'s degree in health sciences, epidemiology or research related degree an asset
  • CCRP or CCRA an asset
  • Medical Terminology course preferred
  • Minimum of two years research experience
  • Experience with database management and statistical analysis an asset
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat, email and internet
  • Proficiency in reference manager program an asset
  • Familiarity with health records
  • Familiarity with research ethics and principles of confidentiality
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Strong report writing skills
  • Effective interpersonal, communication and teaching skills
  • Demonstrated time management and organizational skills
  • Effective research and analytical thinking skills
  • Ability to work well independently as well as within a multidisciplinary team environment
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Salary Information

$27.62 - $34.53 hourly
$53,868.57 - $67,335.57 annually
