The Department of Mechanical Engineering at McGill University is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Research Associate to work with one of our Professors, on Wound healing of ultra-high molecular weight hyaluronic acid research project.
Responsibilities:
Investigates the pathways related to hyaluronidase
Ethics protocols, in particular the one for a rabbit study with MUHC
Prepares and submits an NIH proposal
Overseas laboratory operations, including rabbit animal studies and flow bench experiments
Assists students in completing their research paper on the rat study, in addition to cell cultures and assays
Review and close out previously initiated projects, with the goal of completing data analysis and preparing publications.
Qualifications:
Doctorate in immunology or related discipline with at least five (5) years of
research experience
Experience culturing vocal fold cells and testing the response of these cells to inflammation using various drugs
Experience with animal studies and ethics protocol submission
Proven track record in scientific writing and grant proposal development
Excellent organizational and communication skills
