The Research Associate supports research projects by collecting and analyzing data, conducting experiments, and collaborating with senior researchers.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Communicate existing procedures and train new employees on technical tasks
Independently design and solve laboratory experiments
Interpret data and propose conclusions.
Independently compile and link multiple data sets to draw conclusions
Makes suggestions for future experiments based on existing data
Make independent decisions about the quality and significance of their experimental data
Organizes combinations of experiments, taking into account short- and long-term deliverables
Interfaces with other company teams to achieve objectives
Makes regular contributions to research reports with minimal supervision from the manager
Acts as a source of information and training for new employees
Present results at internal company events and external conferences in various languages

TECHNICAL SKILLS
Required
Master's degree in science or university diploma in science
2 years' experience in a laboratory
Proficiency in Microsoft 365, JMP, statistical analysis and Design of Experiments (DOE).
Familiar with the dry yeast manufacturing and packaging process
Have sensory training and be able to identify compounds normally present in beer
Familiar with WHMIS guidelines, the handling of various chemicals and their proper disposal
PERSONAL ABILITIES
Required
Written and oral communication. English and French
Has a thorough understanding of the technical objectives of a project and is able to explain them independently.
Proactively communicates opinion on data quality to data manager
Work as part of a team and maintain productive and positive relations with colleagues in the company
An asset
Knowledge of Spanish and Portuguese
