The Public Safety Personnel Internet-delivered Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (PSPNET) team is located at the University of Regina and part of the Canadian Institute of Public Safety Research and Treatment (CIPSRT) funded by Public Safety Canada. The PSPNET team is led by Dr. Heather Hadjistavropoulos, one of Canada's foremost leaders on ICBT. The team consists of both clinicians and researchers who are developing, implementing and evaluating ICBT to help current and former public safety personnel (PSP) to improve their mental health and wellbeing. ICBT typically begins with an online and telephone screening. ICBT itself involves patients reviewing psychoeducational materials over the internet and therapists providing support and directing therapeutic activities via secure messaging and phone calls.
PSPNET is looking for a bilingual (French and English) Research Associate. The individual will work with the PSPNET team and will be involved in various educational and research activities associated with PSPNET.
The individual(s) will participate in any of these following activities:
a) Focus on French data collection from the PSPNET platform, data analysis and synthesis and subsequent improvements to PSPNET programming in French. They will support all of the work of the project including working groups, creation and improvement of materials, working alongside instructional designers and the clinical team.
b) French data analysis - conduct interviews with stakeholders, including PSP. Analyze and report on data from interviews and tailor materials. Work with members of the PSPNET teams to coordinate activities and ensure there are linkages among resources. Help setup and test new materials on the PSPNET website and application.
c) French research synthesis, data analysis and interpretation. Preparing presentations and publications as well as lay summaries, videos and social media posts and other related responsibilities.
d) assisting with grant and contract development;
e) Course materials translations or review of translated materials (e.g., course, promotional materials, sponsored content, etc.) f) Follow-up with French speaking clients via email or phone g) Support knowledge translation and outreach related activities (social media, working on sponsored content materials, doing podcasts for example, radio interviews, writing articles for French PSP newsletters). h) Direct graduate students and other staffing sub analyses and research tasks.
Supervision and training will be provided. Remote work is a possibility.
L'equipe de Therapie cognitive comportementale sur Internet pour le personnel de la securite publique (PSPNET) est situee a l'Universite de Regina et fait partie de l'Institut canadien de recherche et de traitement en securite publique (ICRTSP), finance par Securite publique Canada. L'equipe PSPNET est dirigee par la Dre Heather Hadjistavropoulos, l'une des principales expertes de la TCCI au Canada. L'equipe se compose de cliniciens et de chercheurs qui developpent, mettent en oeuvre et evaluent la TCCI pour aider le personnel de la securite publique (PSP) actuel et ancien a ameliorer leur sante mentale et leur bien-etre. La TCCI commence generalement par un depistage en ligne et par telephone. Dans le cadre de la TCCI, les patients consultent des documents psychoeducatifs sur Internet et les therapeutes leur apportent leur soutien et dirigent les activites therapeutiques par le biais d'une messagerie securisee et d'appels telephoniques.
PSPNET est a la recherche d'un(e) associe(e) de recherche bilingue (francais et anglais) qui travaillera avec l'equipe PSPNET et sera impliquee dans diverses activites educatives et de recherche associees a PSPNET.
La/les personne(s) selectionnee(s) participera/ront aux missions suivantes :
a) Collecte de donnees en francais a partir de la plateforme PSPNET, analyse et synthese de ces donnees, et ameliorations subsequentes a la programmation PSPNET en francais. Soutien a l'ensemble du travail du projet, y compris aux groupes de travail, a la creation et a l'amelioration du materiel, en collaboration avec des concepteurs pedagogiques et l'equipe clinique.
b) Analyse de donnees en francais - mener des entrevues avec les parties prenantes, y compris les membres du PSP. Analyser et rendre compte des donnees issues des entrevues et adapter le materiel. Travailler avec les membres des equipes PSPNET pour coordonner les activites et garantir des liens entre les ressources. Aider a configurer et tester le nouveau materiel sur le site Web et l'application PSPNET.
c) Synthese de la recherche en francais, analyse des donnees et interpretation. Preparation de presentations et de publications ainsi que de resumes accessibles, de videos, de publications sur les reseaux sociaux et autres responsabilites connexes.
d) Assister a l'elaboration de subventions et de contrats ;
e) Traduction du materiel des demarches ou revision de documents traduits (par exemple, demarches, materiel promotionnel, contenu sponsorise, etc.) f) Suivi avec des clients francophones par courriel ou par telephone g) Soutien aux activites de transfert de connaissances et de sensibilisation (medias sociaux, travail sur du contenu partenaire, participation a des balados, entrevues a la radio, redaction d'articles pour des infolettres francophones dediees au PSP). h) Diriger des etudiants diplomes et d'autres membres du personnel dans des analyses secondaires et des taches de recherche.
Une formation seront assuree et le travail sera supervise. Il est possible de travailler a distance.
Position Requirements
a) The skills associated with these position(s) would typically be obtained through the completion of a Master's degree or PhD in Social Work, Education, Psychology (various disciplines)
b) Must have theoretical knowledge, as well as experience with collecting and analyzing qualitative data.
c) Must have knowledge of mental health d) Knowledge in cognitive behavioural therapy, depression, anxiety ethics, and assessment an asset.
e) Asset to have research management skills
f) Asset to have experience with course development and evaluation geared toward adult learners
g) Asset to have experience with creating multi-media materials for courses
h) Asset to have experience with narrative interviewing and analysis and creation of narratives/stories.
i) Previous experience with public safety personnel an asset
j) Experience with research design
k) Advanced computer skills preferred (e.g., Word, Excel, web page management, social media)
l) Experience with SPSS, reference management
m) Experience with qualitative or quantitative analysis preferred
n) Experience with dissemination of research (e.g., presentations, preparation of manuscripts) an asset
o) Must have strong oral and written communication skills
p) Must have strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with a team
q) Must be able to work independently
r) Must have strong organizational and time management skills
s) Experience in curriculum design is considered a strong asset
t) Experience in instructional design is considered a strong asset.
