Job Description

Research Assistants are normally students, in a University of Winnipeg undergraduate program, employed to assist with tasks related to research. Work is performed within defined guidelines and under supervision of a more senior researcher or faculty member.


Position Overview:





Working closely with Greenhill and other members of the Women's and Gender Studies Department and Disability Studies Programme, the incumbents will research appropriate activities to support WGS and DIS students in their academic work. They will provide information sessions, workshops, and other events and communication activities for the student community as appropriate and necessary.


Duties:




Prepare equipment and materials for research. Perform academic research. Assist in the acquisition of research materials and supplies. Perform routine clerical and administrative duties to support research activities. Perform other duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications:




Must be a WGS or DIS major or minor. GPA 4.0 or better preferred. Extremely high level communication skills oral and written. Creative thinker. Excellent researcher. Works well with faculty and students.

Condition(s) of Employment:




Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.



The period of work will be from

March 19, 2025 - March 11, 2027

and the estimated total hours of work will be

1-50 hours

.
