Research Assistant, The Space Between Us

Job Description

Research Assistants are normally students, in a University of Winnipeg undergraduate program, employed to assist with tasks related to research. Work is performed within defined guidelines and under supervision of a more senior researcher or faculty member.


Position Overview:





The Space Between Us is a multi-year SSHRC funded project bringing together an international consortium of partners who are working to create new models for institutions to engage marginalized communities and encourage cultural resurgence and transformative change through digital media.


The successful candidate will join a team of Research Assistants who are carrying out sub-projects under The Space Between Us. They will focus on supporting research and coordination, researching other digital media labs, and creating and organizing a couple of workshops.


Duties:




Assist in the execution and evaluation of research projects, including literature reviews, surveys, focus groups, data integration and analysis. Assist in preparing articles, publications, reports and presentations. Prepare materials for submission to research funding agencies and foundations. Monitor project budget and make approved purchases on request. Assist in seeking publication opportunities for the research team. Maintain communications and outreach to research partners and sponsors. Perform other duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications:




Undergraduate degree in Art History. Preference given to those with Masters degree. Proficient in various softwares, graphic design, web design.

Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.



The period of work will be from

January 21, 2026 - January 18, 2027

and the estimated total hours of work will be

10-520 hours

.
