Research Assistant

Primary Purpose: The Shoulder Health and Ergonomics Research Lab is seeking applicants for a full-time research assistant in the field of biomechanics based in the College of Medicine at the University of Saskatchewan.

Nature of Work: This position has no direct reports. Typically the role will involve 37.5 hours, but daily and weekly schedules may vary with lab demands. Flexible hours will be required.


Typical Duties or Accountabilities:

• Assist students and researchers with data collection with lab-based biomechanical equipment (training will be provided)
• Assist with data processing and management (training will be provided)
• Have a flexible schedule to reflect the needs of the lab. Most research is expected in a regular work week, but the occasional evening or weekend will be required.


Education: BSc in Kinesiology, Engineering, Health Sciences or related field. Other combinations of educational qualifications and work experience may be considered.



Experience: Experience working with the public or patients in a clinical setting would be an asset, but not required.



Skills:


• Computer operation (Word, Excel, data analysis software)
• Willingness to learn new research skills
• Demonstrated English writing skills
• Good time management skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
