The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. This is a full-time, one-year temporary position (with the possibility of renewal) supporting the Childhood Disabilities: Participation and Knowledge Translation (PAR-KT) Co-Lab.General Duties

  • Coordinates with the principal investigator (PI), co-investigators and other research team members to ensure that the research project is performed in accordance with federal, institutional and agency regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Oversees and supports research activities and engagement of the advisory committee including parents, youth with disabilities, community organizations and policy makers.
  • Provides administrative support to the Canada Research Chair in Childhood Disabilities and PAR-KT Lab research lead.
  • Supports activities related to general administration including, but not limited to reporting, finance, human resources, communications, student affairs, research grant administration scheduling and taking meeting minutes. The candidate will also liaise with McGill University, the Research Institute of MUHC, the CIUSSS administrative systems, and other external organizations.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Prepares Research Ethics Board (REB) submissions and conducts ongoing monitoring,
  • Reviews and comprehends the protocol and prepares study materials as requested by the PI (study materials include, but are not limited to informed consent document, case report forms, enrollment logs),
  • Establishes and organizes study files, including but not limited to regulatory binders, study-specific source documentation, and other materials,
  • Works with the PI to ensure the study complies with all terms and conditions of the award,
  • Provides appropriate training and tools for study team members,
  • Collects data as required by the protocol and according to ethical guidelines,
  • Maintains study timelines and adequate inventory of study supplies,
  • Oversees project budget,
  • Maintains effective and ongoing communication with REBs, sponsors, research participants, PI, and the project committee during the course of the study,
  • Works with the PI to manage the day-to-day activities of the study, including problem-solving, communication, and protocol management,
  • Assists the PI in the submission of accurate and timely annual reports of the research projects,
  • Arranges secure storage of study documents that will be maintained according to REB policy for the contracted length of time,
  • Organizes lab events as needed,
  • Handles finance-related tasks (reports & payment requests),
  • Takes meeting minutes,
  • Manages multiple agendas,
  • Handles travel booking and related arrangements,
  • Schedules and coordinates meetings and communications, manages PI and collaborators\' CVs, supports the preparation of research presentations, manuscripts, and reference management,
  • Supports the application process for new funding related to various projects, identifies new funding opportunities and requirements, and assists in the preparation of application materials,
  • Assists with research funds and budgets, payment requests, financial reporting, and budget reconciliations,
  • Assists with hiring students and postdoctoral fellows\' appointments,
  • Liaises with Canadian Government Agencies, Quebec Government Agencies, Universities, and other agencies and organizations on administrative matters,
  • Creates and manages social media content for the Lab,
  • Performs tasks for multiple sites, including McGill University, RI-MUHC, and CIUSSS,

  • Demonstrated superior ability in writing and communication skills in French and English,
  • Superior computer skills, including proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, desktop publishing, Asana, Teams, Canva or other graphic design tools, and familiarity with medical databases and information retrieval,
  • Knowledge and experience in the health sector, with familiarity with research environments, including McGill University and RI-MUHC\'s research procedures and regulations,
  • Experience with preparing detailed budgets and knowledge of granting agency regulations,
  • Ability to lead and manage a team in an environment with multiple priorities,
  • Strong organizational, managerial, and interpersonal skills, with good problem-solving abilities,
  • Strong attention to detail and self-motivated, able to prioritize and multi-task under tight deadlines,
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and take initiative,
  • Experience in administrative duties,
  • Ability to validate rules for procedures and expenditures for compliance.

Pay Scale: Commensurate with education and experience / $48,503.00-$90,090.00/year.
Work Shift: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
