Position Overview

The Department of Physics & Astronomy in the Faculty of Science invites applications for a Research Assistant. This Fixed Term Recurring Part-time position is for approximately 12 months.

Reporting to the Principal Investigator of an external research contract/grant. The Research Assistant will assist in the development of specialized computer simulation codes and preparation of technical and scientific publications. The incumbent will also participate and assist in the conduct of theoretical quantum information science research.

The sucessful candidate will be proficient in the area of quantum reservoir computing, including relevant coding experience, and will participate in the design of new quantum reservoir computing schemes based on spin networks and nonlinear oscillators.

• Collaborate with postdocs and graduate students
• Accountable for the scientific accuracy and quality of the research work

Qualifications / Requirements:

• At least a Bachelor\'s degree in physics or computer science
• Prior research experience in quantum reservoir computing is a major asset
• Highly innovative
• Excellent communication, organizational and problem-solving skills
