- This role is in-person at North Campus Edmonton.
This position is based at North Campus Edmonton with some off-campus travel required to the clinical site in Edmonton. The Research Assistant is responsible for assisting the Principal Investigator and Co-Investigators on a clinical trial of a physical therapy intervention for individuals with spinal cord injury. The Research Assistant will coordinate all participant assessments and will support data quality assessment, data transfer between sites, and data management. They will assist with quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis (clinical and neurophysiological outcomes, surveys, interviews). The Research Assistant will act as a liaison between investigators, clinicians, and participants and provide regular updates to the study team.
The Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine is Canada's only free-standing faculty dedicated to rehabilitation. It offers accredited professional programs in Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Speech-Language Pathology, along with a substantial research and continuing education portfolio. With campuses in Edmonton, Calgary, and Camrose, the faculty serves approximately 1,000 graduate students and is a national leader in advancing rehabilitation practice and outcomes.Coordinates and schedules assessments
Administers questionnaires to research participants
Acts as a liaison between research participants, investigators, and clinicians to ensure adherence to study protocols and accurate data collection
Uploads all data to databases, ensures timely data backup
Creates standardized operating procedures and communicates protocols to clinicians and staff
Troubleshoots data collection and data transfer issues with clinicians
Assists with qualitative and quantitative data analysis
Maintains ethics and data logs to monitor recruitment, enrollment, scheduling and data collection
Provides regular updates to the study team on progress and issues Bachelor's degree

Ability to take initiative and proactively solve problems
Ability to work independently within a team environment
Experience with qualitative and/or quantitative data collection and analysis
